Convergys, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a globally recognized leader in relationship management.
They provide variable solutions that help build valuable relationships between their clients, their client’s customers and their employees.
They have employed over 70,000 (internal and external) employees who serve clients in more than 70 countries that speak over 35 languages.
Is Convergys a Scam?
Converygys is definitely not a scam.
As a matter of a fact Convergys has been named among Fortunes Magazine’s Most Admired Companies for seven consecutive years.
They were also included in Information Weeks’ 500 Top 10 List for innovative use of technology.
In 2005, 6, and 7, they received the CRM Magazine‘s Service Leader Award for excellence in outsourcing services.
Marianne Langlois, Convergys Vice President of Learning Solutions, was recognized as one of the”20 Most Influential Training Professionals” at the Training Growth Strategies Conference.
To say the least, they have earned their spot and many have recognized them for their client support solutions and their innovative technology efforts.
What will I be doing as a Convergys work at home agent?
As a Convergys at-home agent, you will be taking calls from home and assisting customers using customer service skills and what ever it takes to get the job done. You will be trained to fulfill the position.
What are the eligibility requirements?
For US candidates, you must be over the age 18, have a GED or high school diploma. Canadian candidates must have a High School Diploma or a good level of education and relevant work experience. UK candidates must have a good level of education or relevant work experience as well. You can check their site to see which states qualify for employment with Convergys.
How much do they pay?
Convergys at-home reps are paid an hourly wage that is determined based on the work performed for their clients’ customers. You will discuss the pay further, as well as your schedule preference, with a member of the Convergys Home Team, as part of their hiring process.
How often is Convergys reps paid?
US at-home agents are paid every two weeks or 26 times annually, whereas UK home agents are paid on an hourly basis which accrues from day to day and shall be payable by 12 equal monthly installments.
What type of benefits will I qualify for as a Convergys agent?
US Home Agents are considered employees of Convergys and are eligible for all applicable benefits in line with plan provisions from their first day of employment.
The benefits includes:

- Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage
- Basic, Additional, Dependent, Accidental Death, and Dismemberment Insurance
- Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts

- Retirement and Savings Plan (401k) with a company match
Canadian Home agents qualifies for the same benefits, but without the Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, however they get the critical illness insurance in the place of that. Convergys mention that Canadian home agents will have the retirement and savings plan, but did not mention the 401k with a company match on their site.
UK home agents are eligible for all applicable benefits, which are:

- Non Contributory Pension Scheme

Will I be an independent contractor or an employee?
You will be an employee.
What type of equipment will I need?
You will need:
- A home computer that meets Convergys’ PC specifications. They allow you to check you computer during the application process to see if it meets their metrics,
- A USB headset with a built in signal processor,
- High-speed internet access. Convergys will help assist you in setting up internet access as part of the hiring process if you do not already have it,
- A telephone with a mute button. You will be responsible for all telephone and internet charges and will not be reimbursed by the company.
Convergy complaints and employee reviews.
The Work from Home Lounge is not in the business for spreading rumors but I know how it is to want to know about whats going on, on the other side of the fence. Keep in mind that most former employees or independent contractors will vent after their contract has been revoked for some reason. We all know how that is…I for one, have been upset several times before when I thought I was let go of for all the wrong reasons and I couldn’t wait to tell my accompanying friends my side of the story.
Every company will have a small crack in their foundation that make them seem a little less flawless, but no one is prefect and being that a company is made up of many individuals, no company is perfect either.
Keep this in mind when reading reviews. Most of the time the reviews are personal.
The majority of employee reviews that I read stated that most were happy with their positions at home. Many were pleased with the benefits offered, while some complained about the pay being low (I assume that they pay different hourly rates for certain projects).
