Convergy complaints and employee reviews.

The Work from Home Lounge is not in the business for spreading rumors but I know how it is to want to know about whats going on, on the other side of the fence.  Keep in mind that most former employees or independent contractors will vent after their contract has been revoked for some reason.  We all know how that is…I for one, have been upset several times before when I thought I was let go of for all the wrong reasons and I couldn’t wait to tell my accompanying friends my side of the story.

Every company will have a small crack in their foundation that make them seem a little less flawless, but no one is prefect and being that a company is made up of many individuals, no company is perfect either.

Keep this in mind when reading reviews.  Most of the time the reviews are personal.

The majority of employee reviews that I read stated that most were happy with their positions at home.  Many were pleased with the benefits offered, while some complained about the pay being low (I assume that they pay different hourly rates for certain projects).

Review on "Convergy" work at home job

Thanks for the review of Convergy. Very helpful in confirming if the company is a scam or a true job. It is so hard to divide the real jobs from the scams. I actually found this job on one of the job search engines, but you have to be careful about those jobs too.

As a referred applicant I was put thru hoops for the convergys application process – they have not updated requirements and I purchased equipment totaling over $600 which was apparently not to their specs yet nowhere on the site did it tell me what specs they required  i.e. age of computer and now I am stuck with computers that are not usable and out the money for them… they suck and I called them to ask about it and am now told a position that I applied for isnt open yet when I applied it prompted me to that position AND when I go back thru the process it is still there !?!!  Someone screwed up and are screwing me cuz I brought it to their attention   – they SUCK BIG EGGS ! Covering their ass cuz of their mistakes – sounds like a chitty company for having employees like that

I had this trainer/manager Linday Allen who use to be a bartender. She was a good speaker and teaching us everything but she was demeaning to us instead of help us if we did not understand. She started out telling us that she was not our friend, after she says does everyone understand what I am saying, she would back it up with, well I don’t believe some of you all. If you answered wrong she would embarrass you at times saying that is not the way to do, she would not tell us. That is a good try but not quite right. I wanted to switch to another class with a nicer trainer but not sure if they would let me since that class was 2 weeks behind. Then after the training was completed and we took the final test, she would right me up for doing the job wrong, while I was still in training. The district manager said he wanted us to succeed and I could go to the other class for more training, but she decided to fire me, while still in the training. After 9 weeks of studying and passing the class,  I got fired. A big waste of 9 weeks for me. My guess is that she got a commission for the new hires that passed her class because after that she did not care if you needed help. They told us in training if you go someone on with the company and they stayed for 6 months, you would receive a $350 bonus and the new hire $100 bonus. Be careful, everyone seemed nice but if you get someone young and from the bar life most likely they are not there to help you, they just look after themselves.

Are the hours flexible.  Do they have night shift?  Looking to work from 9PM to about 5AM EST?

  • Karen Buchanan

Does Convergy’s offer toll free phone numbers if customer’s call in or do I need a cell phone? I thought I did not need a phone.

    • shannperks

Most likely you will need a phone, however they will provide their customers with a phone number that will route to your phone. So if you are worried about customer’s having your personal phone number – this will not happen.

    • Alecia Henry

No it will be VoIP but for meetings you will need a landline. Yes it is toll free

  • Gueat

I worked for this company for over 4 years and it has progressively gone downhill.  Many changes were made and we all adjusted to them or left one way or another.  Of the people I trained with there were still 3 of the ori8ginal 25 left after 3 years.  The 4th year however was when the worst changes were made and the management no longer cared about the employees anymore. It came down to the money and if it wasn’t making money then you were gone. I finally quit as the stress and pressure were no longer tolerable. The HR person told me to check back in 6 months to a year and maybe other changes would make it possible to work there again.

    Does convergys sponsor H1 visa?

    • Diane

No, they do not. They are hiring in the Philippines though. Not sure of other countries.

  • Guest

as work from home agent, does your phone stay busy all day?

    • Alecia Henry

      Yes mostly.

  • Maribeth Schneider

when working from home in customer service, does your phone stay busy?

    • Diane

With Convergys, you only use your phone for voice verification which takes less than a minute. You can even use a cell phone. You take customer calls right through your PC and headset. Some other companies require the use of a landline to take calls. (Alpine Access comes to mind.)

      • Maribeth Schneider

thanks :) you still work for them? I love it

  • jr

Do you have to work on weekends??

    • Administrator

As I understand, their hour are flexible. I am not sure if you would have to work on the weekends. This is something that you would need to ask Convergy’s directly. I found this email on their website ( I hope this is helpful to you.

  • Harold Homeier

Convergys’ testing is not current.. I can’t complete my application for employment because my computer per them says that I’m wireless, and I’m not even CLOSE!! Oh well, their loss.

    • Administrator

      Hi Harold,

I’m sorry to hear that. Did you try reaching out to them directly to see if you could speak with someone about the issue you are having?

  • Wungchipem Kazingkha

How, where and when can I walk in for the interview? Thanks.
